The technology committee will evaluate the current technologies and their relevance toward fulfilling our vision and goals. Our budget will be maintained, enhanced or readjusted to meet the existing technology needs. The technology committee will continually monitor technology issues that arise during the year and create a plan to resolve them. The IT staff will conduct a survey of the staff to determine professional development needs and provide these opportunities. The committee will suggest new technologies, evaluate successes and failures, and continuously update this technology plan. An evaluation to assess the plan's progress will be completed annually in the spring by this committee.
Thoughts?
TM-Need to formulate a Timeframe and Update the techplan with when the aforementioned tasks will take place and who is responsible for the tasks - to state the committee is not enough accounatability and ownership
Is it the Technology Advisory Council the same as the District Tech Committee?
TM-The technology Advisory is the same
Does the name change in the tech plan?
TM - The name/terminology changes
JP - I have made my suggested changes to this document.
PLR - shoud we say how many times to meet? 4x year??
PB- We need to be consistent in the use of the name (Tech. Advisory Council vs. tech committees in the school) Does the Advisory Council come up with specific plans for technology issues or are these issues resolved at the school tech committees? We really need to define the duties clearly, ie who conducts the survey and interprets the results for recommendations for funding? Who is responsible for ensuring that the e-portfolios are happening?
